About

About Castle View Lodge

Castle View Lodge is a beautifully restored five-bedroom retreat in the heart of mid-Wales. Steeped in history as a former fisherman's cottage, the lodge has been thoughtfully updated to offer a warm, comfortable and well-equipped base for groups and families looking to escape the everyday.

Whether you’re here to explore the stunning Welsh countryside, unwind in the hot tub or simply gather around the log burner with good company, Castle View Lodge is the perfect place to do it.

The open-plan living and dining space at Castle View Lodge

Sleeping

Spread across two floors, five bedrooms sleep your group in comfort. The ground floor king room is a proper retreat with its own en suite, and there's a second double downstairs too — great if stairs aren't for everyone. Head up and you'll find two more doubles and a twin, all served by a family bathroom. There's also a full bathroom with a bath on the ground floor — no queuing, we promise.

Inside

The living room is where everyone ends up — sprawled on the sofas, log burner going, something good on Sky TV. The kitchen has everything you need for big group meals or lazy morning breakfasts. And when it's movie night, the upstairs cinema room with Netflix and streaming is ready and waiting.

Outside

The patio is made for long evenings around the outdoor dining table with good food and good company. The hot tub is always a highlight — there's nothing quite like soaking under the stars after a day out. And when the sun goes down, gather round the garden cabin and toast marshmallows. Simple, but it never gets old.

The Area

Nestled in the heart of mid-Wales, the lodge has history — originally a fisherman's cottage, it sits in one of the most unspoilt corners of Powys. The surrounding landscape is classic Welsh countryside; rolling hills, open skies and a pace of life that does you good. Llandrindod Wells is just down the road for shops, cafés and a wander, while the wider area is a playground for walkers, cyclists and anyone who just wants to get out into the fresh air. Red kites soaring overhead is a pretty common sight — and one that never gets old.
